DIGITAL COLLAGES USING A GRID AS AN ORGANIZING PRINCIPLE
Create a 12 x 18 document. Using your own photographs and up to five copyright-free photos from online sources, create a digital collage. Try to create a sense of space (foreground, middle ground and background). Experiment with different adjustments and layer effects to change the quality of some of the tiles. Allow some of the tiles/images to break free from the framework of the grid.

ALPHABET PROJECT
This assignment challenges you to look carefully at the world around you to "find" letters in unexpected places. You are required to find at least 10 letters (10 points per letter) and photograph them. Consider how you frame/crop your images. You may not construct your own letters or photograph pre-existing letters (as found on a billboard, for example). You may choose to spell a word with your photos, or just photograph the letters you see first.
